Yes, Nelya is fully offline. It does not require an internet connection to function. It requires no connection during setup, during daily use, or for predictions. Everything runs entirely on your device. There are no background sync processes and no network requests of any kind.
All data is stored locally on your device only. Nelya has no servers, no cloud storage, and no external databases. Your cycle history, symptoms, moods, and notes never leave your phone. We have no ability to access, view, or retrieve your data, because it was never sent to us in the first place.
Currently, data is stored locally and tied to your device, so switching phones means starting fresh. We are aware this is the most common concern from users, and we are actively working on a solution. An upcoming update will introduce an encrypted, password-protected backup file that you can export and import to a new device. The file will be fully under your control. We will not have access to it. We will announce this feature through the app stores when it is ready.
No account is required. You open the app and start tracking immediately. There is no registration, no email address, no username, and no password tied to any service we operate. This is a deliberate design decision. An account would require us to store something about you, which we do not want to do.
Yes. Nelya supports PIN code protection, which means the app cannot be opened without the correct code even if someone has physical access to your phone. Because there is no cloud sync, your data does not exist anywhere else. It cannot be accessed remotely or recovered by a third party.
No. Because Nelya stores no data on servers, there is nothing for us to hand over, even if legally compelled. This is different from most health apps that store your data in the cloud and can be required to disclose it under national laws. Nelya is developed in Finland and operates under European privacy standards, but the more important point is structural: we simply do not have your data.
Free apps typically generate revenue by collecting and monetising user data, selling it to advertisers, insurers, or data brokers. Nelya's business model is a one-time purchase with no subscription. That means we have no financial reason to collect your data. The price is what makes the privacy model sustainable.
Nelya lets you log period start and end dates, flow intensity, ovulation, fertile windows, symptoms, mood, energy levels, and personal notes. It builds predictions based on your own recorded history and shows trends across cycles. Everything is visualised in a clean calendar and analytics view.
Yes. Nelya builds its predictions from your personal data rather than population averages, so it adapts to your actual pattern over time. If your cycles vary significantly in length, the predictions will reflect that variability rather than forcing a 28-day template onto your data.
Yes. Nelya is available on the Apple App Store for iPhone and iPad, and on Google Play for Android. It is a one-time purchase on both platforms. The purchase does not transfer between platforms. An App Store purchase is separate from a Google Play purchase.
Uninstalling Nelya deletes all locally stored data permanently. There is no recovery option, as the data exists only on your device and is not backed up anywhere. If you plan to uninstall and reinstall, be aware that you will lose your history until the encrypted backup feature is released.
Nelya is developed by Apprecano Ltd in Finland and is subject to Finnish and EU law. Because the application does not collect, transmit, or process any personal data, the GDPR's data processing obligations do not apply to the app itself. The one area where we do handle personal data is if you contact us by email, your message and email address are stored on our email provider's servers solely for the purpose of responding to you.
